Cold homes are not just uncomfortable to live in, they can have a negative effect on health. In Suffolk there are still a large number of houses that do not have a central heating system with a boiler and radiators. We have up to 100% funding to install first time central heating systems (subject to survey). This funding from the Warm Homes Fund has been secured by your county and district/borough councils to help more than 500 households in Suffolk over the next three years.
To be eligible you must own your property or privately rent (i.e. not a council house or housing association property) and must not have an existing central heating system (a boiler and radiators). Eligibility may be linked to income. For more information see www.greensuffolk.org/whf
Heating systems will be gas or oil depending on how close your house is to the mains gas network and will consist of a boiler and radiators. Radiators will be installed in your ‘habitable rooms’ e.g. your living room, bedrooms etc.
Grants are also available for loft and cavity wall insulation and our insulation installer can check your home even if you do not qualify for the Warm Homes Fund.
