As a complementary event to our “Every Garden Matters” Exhibition we are pleased to invite you to this networking day.
Stowmarket Eco group has learned much from other groups, and hopefully we have inspired one or two others along the way.
This day is a deliberate effort to get a wide variety of groups together — voluntary and statutory, to share information and grow our effectiveness whether people feel like a complete beginner or an experienced expert.
Message from the Group:
We would be delighted if you would join us at The Food Museum in Stowmarket for an Eco Networking Day, an event to complement the community exhibition Every Garden Matters: How to Save the World One Garden at a Time. The underlying theme of the exhibition is the power of collective efforts.
We’re inviting community action groups to come and share success stories and inspire each other, and information providers and charities who can help local action groups to get going and achieve their aims. We hope that individuals who want to do something in their local community but don’t know where to start might stop by too.
We also hope to have representatives from all levels of local and national government who will be able to listen and to learn, first-hand, about all of the amazing volunteer-led community projects that are happening across Suffolk, as well as the challenges we face.
We are encouraging all visitors to join together in celebrating International Picnic Day by bringing their own lunch. A fortunate coincidence as there is no catering on site! In keeping with the spirit of the day we’d love you to bring a veggie or vegan picnic but no judgement from us if you don’t! There will also be a silent vigil and guided meditation, a Question Time panel and the ceremonial planting of a Kett’s Oak sapling.
To register your attendance, for all or part of the day, please complete and return this form before 31 May. If you aren’t able to attend but would like to be represented on the day, there is space on the form for you to provide a brief description of your project or service and your contact details so you can be added to our Green Gallery and our website. There will be a table for each group to use and an indoor space in the event of bad weather.
