This Saturday 29th of June the Holbrook Repair Cafe will be celebrating its third year! There will be a raffle for our fundraising and we will have lots of great things to show to the visitors. The homemade Goldilocks chairs will be raffled on the day by our one and only Wendy Sadler!
For the first time since we’ve opened, we will have a couple of ladies representing the Suffolk Spinners. They will have demonstrations on how to use the spinning wheels, peg looms and inkle looms. Visitors will be able to see what can be achieved from “Sheep to Shawl”.
We will also have 73 young Cherry Chocolate Cosmo plants from a local plant breeder who received 2nd place at the Chelsea Flower Show this year. For each plant we sell, a £1 will be donated to the Repair Café (we are getting closer to buying an overlocker to be able to repair yet more items!). There will also be lots of seed and plant swaps, refills of Eco products, a charity corner to donate your unwanted books/CDs and DVD to help our friends under the homeless umbrella Helping Hands Suffolk. Another charity benefiting will be Smalls For All which accepts new underwear and gently used bras for women who cannot afford these.
Please come and support this self started project with many amazing volunteers from Brantham, East Bergholt, the Shotley Peninsula and Ipswich.
Oh, we do pride ourselves of making delicious homemade cakes, cookies, cheese scones and sausage rolls as well as a homemade lunch.
