An Air Quality Officer from Babergh and Mid Suffolk District Council visited Bramford Primary School today [Tuesday 14th June 2022] to run a couple of air quality sessions. This involved considering the health impacts of air pollution, ways to reduce your own exposure to air pollution, and steps that can be taken to reduce emissions.
The children created Clean Air Superheroes, including ‘Oxygen Oscar the Octillionth’, ‘Super Stan and his air pollution fighting equipment of the mop, broom and vacuum’ to clean up the air, and a pollution eating dog. They also wrote pledges, many focusing on walking, cycling or scooting to school more, or telling others about air pollution, which ties in well with this years Clean Air Day aims of ‘talk, walk, ask’.
Clean Air Day, the UK’s largest air pollution campaign, is taking place on Thursday 16th June 2022. For more information visit the Clean Air Day website here.
