Pakefield residents are invited to give their views on the options for managing the future of the coast through both an online visitor centre and a face-to-face event.
Coastal Partnership East, the coastal management team for East Suffolk Council, will be holding an event on Saturday 11 June at Pakefield Church Community Hall. The event will enable the local community to find out more about the possible options for managing the continuing erosion and future of this stretch of coastline.
The Pakefield Virtual Visitor Centre, which uses gaming technology developed during the pandemic, will also be available, ensuring people can access current project information and have their say, even if they are unable to attend the event.
Cllr David Ritchie, East Suffolk’s cabinet member for Planning and Coastal Management, said:
“This is an important time for the community to get involved. By letting us know how they feel about the shortlisted options, and how these may affect them, we can work with residents to develop the future of their coast. We are delighted to be able to host an in-person event as well as providing an option to take part online and we look forward to hearing everyone’s views.”
The Pakefield Virtual Visitor Centre will be updated with the consultation information on 11 June and the questionnaire will be open until 30 July. The centre will remain open throughout the project and will be updated at each stage.
The drop-in event at Pakefield Church Community Hall is open from 10am – 1pm where project officers will be on hand to answer your queries.
